Quick! What’s for supper? I’ve been working all day, the guys are hungry, and I’m tired and somewhat cranky because I haven’t had enough food. (Yes, I’m one of those who, on crazy days, sometimes forgets to eat – even though I know the consequences.)
We have just experienced a brutal cold snap. While warming up in a charming coffee shop in Stockholm, I tried my first-ever rooibos chai latte. I’ll never be able to re-create that precise beverage, but this is pretty darned close! And I don’t have to wait in line….
Like many families, we read the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. In fact recently, I’ve been reading “Farmer Boy” outloud to my husband. He loves to hear about the adventures of young Almanzo, and all the buckwheat cakes he ate. 🙂
I got myself into a situation last week — too much sugar, and not enough food. I’m old enough to know better (!) but when I’m on vacation and enjoying special treats with special people, such things happen.
“Kristina i Köket” is still waiting to be picked up by Swedish television :), but I have certainly enjoyed days of shopping, visiting friends, and sharing delicious meals with my daughter in Sweden.
“Kristina i Köket” (Kristina in the Kitchen) would be a great title for a television show! At least for the next week or so, as I visit my daughter who lives and works in the Stockholm Archipelago. She is an amazing, creative, instinctive, adventurous cook!
