Creamed Mushrooms and Omelette (Svampstuvning)


Description

A simple and decadent topping


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1216 ounces mushrooms (try a blend of shiitake, portobello, and oyster)
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • Splash of white wine
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Clean and chop mushrooms, and finely dice onion.
  2. Heat a medium-sized skillet, add oil, and once that is hot, melt the butter in the oil. Add the finely diced onion and chopped mushrooms, and cook over medium-low heat until they are fragrant and tender.
  3. Season with garlic powder and white pepper and cook another minute, or so. Deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine.
  4. Pour in the cream and cook until thickened (this might take 5 minutes)
  5. Serve as desired
